Austin's Award-Winning Musical Comedy Parody Troupe #####
##### NEW YORK CITY OVERTURES ##### Directed By Russell Fox Musical Driection - Jerry Pepperone With Material By Blake Yelavich ##### "Naughty Austin" may just have been born from this review show produced by Capitol City Playhouse in 1992. ##### Blake Yelavich and Russell Fox developed a concept show with Musical Director extraordinaire, Jerry Peperone. ##### The show was to be a combination of songs from Broadway musicals, but with a completely different underlying story-line. ##### Because the musical "Nunsense" was running at two theaters at the same time in Austin while this show was being performed, Blake had "wandering nuns, lost, due to road construction," interrupt the stage performance. ##### The unexpected visit of these now-bawdy ladies was a laugh-riot, and made Blake's parody writing well-known throughout the Austin theater community. ##### This show was nominated for six ACOT and six Theater Critic's awards, including a nomination for Blake's original storyline and comic material. #####
