XXXXXX Buck's Disciple A Thriller In Two Acts By Blake Yelavich XXX Director - Blake Yelavich Assistant Director - Amy Young Set Design and Construction - Kirk Addison and Blake Yelavich with special thanks to Robi and Michele Polgar for everything... ####XXX XXX# "Buck's Disciple" is Blake Yelavich's nod to the "Deathtrap" genre. Even the first line of both plays is almost identical for the sake of no-mistaking the ties to Ira Levin's comedy thriller. ##### "One set, five characters..." And enough panic, murder and mayhem to keep an audience rivetted as well as laughing hysterically until the final twist. #####
##### Kirk Addison and Brian Townes played Buck, and his "disciple", respectively. The story focuses on a depressed acting coach (Addison), his one and only client - a B-grade horror bimbo named Randie Gams (played by Laura Walberg), and a new and perhaps too desperate applicant to his teachings - an overboard fan / self-proclaimed "disciple," Patrick (Townes). #####
##### Buck's roommates, Cheryl (Cathie Sheridan) and drummer "Diamond" (Erik Vic), leave Buck alone for the weekend for their "practice honeymoon," when there is a news announcement of a serial killer loose in the area. ##### Could Patrick be the serial killer the cops are looking for? He is certainly dangerous enough. When the Randie arrives with a suitcase full of plastic weapons, the danger escalates - ##### No one certain who has what, who wants what... Then, the unexpecting roommates return home - their weekend cut short. ##### Full of surprises, "Buck's Disciple" was nominated for three ACOT and three Theater Critics awards. ##### READ THE REVIEW FROM THE MAY 3RD, 1996 EDITION OF THE AUSTIN CHRONICLE ##### ("Naughty Austin Productions" was originally called "Christy, Shut The Door! Productions" - the name-origins of which are far too complex to explain.) #####
