BIANKA'S WAKE Feeling naughty? Embark on a dirty night in a quaint little town called Los Angeles.

The Story
Oops, she did it again. It seems that no
matter what poor Bianka does, trouble follows. After a night of
drunken revelry, the Madonna doppelganger (circa the "Express
Yourself" video) crashes the condo of two overly earnest
fellows. Looking for action of the physical kind, Bianka leaves
the men, a drag queen, her publicist, assorted muscle boys and
a cat burglar in her never-staid wake.
The Performance
As a "campy sex farce," writer and director Yelavich nails the form's
heavy reliance on coincidence, emphasis on spoof and embracing of doors as a
pivotal plot device. The actors here are easy on the eyes, and the roots of
the Naughty Austin group in improvisation and parody are quite apparent. For
fans of camp, the ability to laugh with the actors, and, at their expense, makes
"Bianka's Wake" a guilty pleasure indeed.
The Program
"Bianka's Wake" boasts one of the most clever theater programs in
recent memory. Inspired by gossipy tabloids, the "Hollywood Hustler"
introduces the antics of Bianka and her comrades as brief news items under the
subtle headline "Bimbo Bianka Blows Ball."
The Company
This is the third full-scale production of a Blake Yelavich work from Naughty
Austin Productions. In spring 2001, the troupe will produce "Personals,"
a send-up of personal ads, chat rooms and video dating by the authors of television's
"Friends".
